2007 duet at Elton’s charity party
Dame Shirley’s friend Sir Elton John performed a magnificent concert in Tenerife on 24th January.
At the Costa Adeje Golf, a world class club that has hosted the Spanish Open.
A big ampitheatre was built on the driving range to hold a reported audience of over 40,000.
They had originally planned for an audience of 25,000.
Elton was on stage from 9:00pm to 11:40pm on top form.
“It was quite amazing, two hours 40 mins without a break. Even the band at times went for a break but not Elton. He just took, in all that time, the smallest sip of water from a small cold flask.”
“The first part had a lot of new songs but then it got going with the famous”Saturday” and all the old ones.”
Elton has a full year ahead with a season at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, many charity events and other concerts including Mercedes Benz World, Surrey in July.
