Eartha and Shirley
Reading about Shirley’s participation at the 1968 San Remo festival, it brings me to mind that another great lady entered that year, namely Eartha Kitt, she didn’t win either.
I once heard an interview with Shirley and Eartha together in which they joked about one hitting the other backstage (don’t remember who was the ‘hitter’)

Thanks, Frans. I can’t imagine fisticuffs between Eartha and Shirley 
They are friends. DSB went to see Eartha’s show last year in London.
Can you picture it? “And in the pink corner… Basher Bassey!”
