My name is Thomas Hockling and I am Astrid’s husband. Friends asked me to play songs recorded by Shirley Bassey. I felt that this is an impossible task because her interpretations are unsurpassable.
The only chance is maybe finding my own initimate version (of Light My Fire), which may work. So I tried my own compact version which I recorded live (vocals and keyboard). Dieter, a member of my band added further drums and the bass. I hope you can accept my version alongside Shirley Bassey’s great interpretations and thanks a lot for listening.

ALBERT I’M BACK!
Tomorrow we are all going to the Royal Albert Hall in London. It is a trip down to memory lane, the year 1973…..
I remember a concert at the Royal Albert Hall where Shirley made her entrance and shouted: “Albert I’m back!”
The concert is superb audio and video but I’ve added a few things from a tape in lesser quality that are not included in the good one. Like for instance the introduction of the orchestra.
