Dame Shirley attended the Pride of Britain Awards this evening. Here’s the first photo, hot off the press!
Shirley Bassey arriving at Pride of Britain Awards
The awards show is televised Wednesday on ITV1 at 8pm. I’ll be sat by my television with my fingers on the record button!! I’ll also make sure I buy the Daily Mirror – you never know there could be more photos!
1.19am!! I’ve just been on the Daily Mirror’s web site and it states that Dame Shirley did present an award. She presented it to a very courageous man who rushed into the path of a 50ft chemical fireball to save a man’s life after a motorway crash.
These are clips of ‘The Radio Times’ from 1976. Tomorrow the other part.
(Thanks to Rien).
Songs: All that love went to waste & Johnny one note
The 1976 Shirley Bassey shows were nominated for the ‘Rose of Montreux’

Shirley and What’s his name (?)
This great photo I got from the Dutch press-agency Kippa in Amsterdam. It must have been 1977 and I went to Amsterdam, which is from where I live about 220 km. I was told they sold pictures there of Shirley.
Once I got there, their policy had changed and they did not sell pictures anymore. They were very friendly though and showed me drawers full of Shirley pictures. I felt like a child in a candy-store.
In the end they felt sorry for me because of the long trip I had to make and they decided I could buy one picture only. As you can imagine it was very difficult for me to choose but I chose this one!
