It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on Saturday of long time fan Sid Finney. Sid and his wife Hilary were devoted fans for more than 50 years and they followed Dame Shirley Bassey throughout the whole of her magnificent career. They were also present at many TV- recordings where they can be seen in the audience. It was only a week ago that Hilary lost her mother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sid and his devoted wife Hilary and all the family.
We contine now with part 4 of the 1979 BBC-show after the sad news about Michael Jackson and the wonderful new pictures of our gorgeous Dame Shirley at Elton John’s “White tie and tiara ball” last week.
Dame Shirley made her appearance at Sir Elton John’s ‘White Tie and Tiara’ ball. She is seen arriving wearing a purple gown. At one point she flashed her nails to show they were the same colour as her gown. She usually attends this annual event which is held at the singer’s home in Windsor.
Flashing her nails!
Dame Shirley has also commented on the sad death of Michael Jackson.
In a statement, Bassey said she was shocked and devastated at the sudden death of the pop icon.
“I have very fond memories of Michael with one dinner in particular where he renamed me Lady Goldfinger. For the rest of the time I knew him that was my name. He was an icon and the King of Pop, quite simply magic.”

“The Goldfinger Lady”!
From the CD “All by myself” and the DVD “A special lady” this great Michael Jackson song “He’s out of my life” sung so beautiful by Shirley, accompanied on the piano by Richard Clayderman.
And for my Simply Bassey now is a special treat for my friend Eddie in
Brazil who mentioned to me about Yesterday I Heard The Rain being
performed live. Today I am playing this version from 1970 and I really
hope you like it Eddie.
