The new album due for release 9th November can now be pre-ordered from a number of sites. These include : HMV, Amazon.co.uk and Play.com. The cost is around £8.99 and postage is free from all of them for fans in the UK. Hopefully Shirley will be riding high in the charts once this album is released.
**For the next few days I will add a new fantastic photo of our Dame. I hope you all will like them.

Has DSB retired and finsihed doing live concerts?. I saw her back in the mid 90’s at the Wilshire Theater in Los Angles and could not get over just how great a singer and entertainer she was. Remember seeing her on BBC in the early 60’s, and I thought she was a much better singer and performer all those years later.

Lord Tony Snowdon is DSB officail photographer. If you recall, he was married briefly to Princess Margaret and took his hobby of photography to new levels.
I have to second how wonderful DSB looks. For the last 30 years, since I was 9 years old and a fan; I can only say that our lovely dame keeps on looking great & sounding better as the years go on. When you think we have Dame Shirley AND Dame Vera around, are we not blessed??
I’ve been flitting around our British radio stations to see if I could hear any taster released for airplay but I haven’t come across any yet. Let us get the record up to the top of the charts and show the younger ones what quality is all about lol.

Yeah, not bad if Shirley could come back to Brazil. She’s bewiching indeed. As years go by, experience and glamour together show by themselves who this Dame is. 72 years old and she’s more gorgeous than ever. I hope producers of “The Performance” invest in promotional clips, clips themselves, tv shows and everything else. New generation (I’m 39

And “The Performance” album sleeve is absolutely fabulous.
With all the beautiful new pics of the Dame available, the cover of the forthcoming CD is not very nice. That pic looks better in colour but I prefer her in the silvery/gray dress. Her hair is nicer there. Just my opinion. Let’s shoot it right to the top of the charts!

I couldnt agree more with what Terence Lee has said about the new CD cover for the forthcoming new release – the picture of Shirley in the silver dress is much much nicer than the one apparently chosen. I hope that maybe they will change the photo cover. This one reminded me of the cover from the 1991 album “Keep the music playing” – I dont think it portrays the title of the album The Performance – the longer standing photo with the lettering in the background would have been more suitable. But nevertheless we will all love it I am sure – even if the cover was printed in fish and chip papers!!! – its still a much awaited Bassey album.

I have pre-ordered at least 10 copies of the new CD. Safe in the knowledge that DSB never disappoints me, musically. Can’t wait for the delivery.
Oh my !!! So many frustrated wanna be dress designers !! Why don’t we just leave it up to the professionals to do their job, which they seem to be doing very well, if I may say so. At her age, we are lucky that DSB can even stand up long enough for all the fittings. So just let us accept what we get and enjoy it.
I absolutely ADORE this album cover and think it is one of Dame Shirley’s best in years! I also think the picture is better in black and white than in colour. It is more classy and it emphasises the fabulousness of Dame Shirley’s killer smile, teeth and jewels.

WOW WOW WOW!! fantastic, fantastic new album I was a little skeptical at first when I heard that this album was being released. But when my copy arrived, I just couldnt stop playing it time and time again,this album is simply the best, marvellous Dame Shirley! I am sure that all the fans will agree with all the really great reviews which have been printed not only on the Bassey Blog – but the newpapers themeselves – everyone is raving about this new CD – and rightly so WOW WOW WOW what more can I say – just marvellous!
