Dame Shirley is to appear in a concert for BBC’s Children In Need which has been organised by Gary Barlow of the group Take That. It will be held at the Royal Albert Hall on November 12th. Fans can register for tickets which will be priced £50 – £100 between now and noon on 20th October. Successful applicants, drawn at random, will be notified by email on 21st October. The show will be televised by the BBC. This is what the official announcement says:
The concert will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 12 November and will be part of a week of Children in Need related programmes when it is broadcast on BBC1 and Radio 2.
All fans will have a chance to buy a maximum of two tickets by registering their details at www.seetickets.com/childreninneed. Tickets will be allocated through a ballot that will remain open from 7.00am, Friday 16 October until noon on Tuesday 20 October. Successful applicants, drawn at random, will be notified by email on Wednesday 21 October. Tickets for the concert will start at £50.
The show will be broadcast on BBC One in the weekend before the main BBC Children in Need Appeal on November 20 and coverage of the concert will be repeated on BBC Three, Wednesday 18 November at 9.00pm with highlights, presented by Kate Thornton, on Radio 2, Thursday 19 November at 8.00pm.
It promises to be a terrific evening and it’s great that Dame Shirley is appearing.
Universal have announced details of the ‘Performance Deluxe Box Set’. I imagine most of you will have seen the mailout regarding it. It is to be a limited edition of only 1000. The cost is £16.99 including postage direct from Universal for UK fans. Overseas have to pay extra for postage. Special delivery for the UK costs an extra £5.00. I have to be honest and say that I am somewhat disappointed with it. I expected maybe a ‘Making of’ DVD or something. A gold embossed box and 8 photos plus the CD is not what I really expected. As you can see the artwork is yet to be finalised.

I pre-ordered mine already – wooow – only a thousand copies… and I would also rather get an extra something musical than the fancy box with exquisite artwork, which is truly nice and looks tasteful so far…
I have mine pre-ordered to, I’m so excited. I actually can’t wait
