A very glamorous Dame Shirley posing at her Monte Carlo home
The song “Here’s to life” was never recorded by Dame Shirley Bassey. This recording was made at a concert in Manchester in 2006.
It was on YouTube before and Cheryl requested it. She wrote:
I have looked all over for Dame Shirley Bassey’s performance of HERE’S TO LIFE. I have had to listen to other artists’ performances of that song. The other artists are good, but there is only one DSB. The song was on the blog, along with Eartha KItt’s version, but they were removed. Please let me know where I can hear/buy that song by DSB. I love `Here`s to life` after Shirley included the song at Wembley Arena in 2006. According to Peggy it was recorded for `Another audience with DSB` but not broadcast. Hopefully if the new dvd is successful then some of this`lost` footage may become available.

If this was really recorded for the Audience with DSB 2006 there is hope that we will see it some lucky day, this recording is amazing and i love to hear it, a video of this with Shirley, her expressions and marvellous looks, it would be one of my favourite DSB videos
This is nothing short of perfection. It is so beautiful, and the rich layers it has are magnificent. I think Barbra Streisand is the first one I heard sing this song. i think it is on her newest Album. There is only one Dame Shirley. It is just beautiful, the orchestration is awesome. The convincing manner that she sings this brings tears to my eyes! Oh, to have heard this live must have really been Something Else. Thanks

Hopefully we will see the rejected video of this of Another audience with where she sang it wearing the white gown. One of my Top 10 DSB songs, maybe the song by her that touches me most of all.
