Classic Brit Awards 2011

DSB singing 'Goldfinger'

Dame Shirley took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall last night during the Classic Brit Awards 2011 to pay tribute to the late John Barry.  For the first time in the history of the awards John Barry was posthumously honoured with a special award.  The Duchess of Cornwall presented the award which was received by Don Black.  It was during the tribute that followed that Dame Shirley took to the stage to sing ‘Goldfinger’.  She looked stunning in a gold gown and sounded terrific.  The awards will be shown on TV in the UK on ITV1 29th May.  If you are unable to wait to hear what she sounded like follow the link and there is a small clip of her singing towards the end of the report.
