OMG!!!!!! This is MONUMENTAL news!!! The largest ever global audience for DSB???!!! I just pissed my pants! If she slays it like she did in Hamburg I have no doubt she will be courted and wooed for stateside appearances. They will be clamoring for more. This is the best news her U.S. audience has received in about 20 years.

What wonderful news!!!!! I am so pleased!!!!! I am not sure if Oprah still does her after Oscar show. But how fabulous it would be for her to interview Dame Shirley. I am so proud of her, and so pleased that so many will for the first time hear and behold her magnificence! They will hear the miracle of Dame Shirley. She sounds even better 50 years later. I can’t wait!!
Oprah does still do her Oscar show, it is now in a different format and it is on her OWN channel. I will be making a comment to consider interviewing or spot lighting Dame Shirley, if even for a few moments. She would conduct it with the utmost respect. I know Dame Shirley hates them these days, but she can always tell Oprah’s people no if she doesn’t want to be interviewed. I have dreamed of Oprah interviewing her. I can only pray that ABC won’t cut our Dame off the broadcast as they did to her at the Jubilee Concert.
I emailed the oscars to ask them to be sure to air her performance. I think we are probably safe since it will be a part of the Bond tribute. But nothing wrong with begging them to be sure to air it.
You can’t imagine how i feel upon hearing the news, finally it took the celebration anniversary of James Bond to request for her appearance it doesnt matter how long it took them SHE IS HERE IN STATES at last!!!! There are still a lot of us who adored and admired the Dame in USA I’m a loyal fan for 55 yrs I was 9yrs old in the Philippines when I heard her” As I loved you”. She’s really here!!!!!

Admittedly, this is a site for admirers of the fabulous Dame Shirley, so I can understand your feelings about Oprah. I only mentioned Oprah, because the world seems to care about what she says. As one of the most listened to,and watched people in the world Oprah commands attention. She appreciates Legends like Dame Shirley, and likes to give proper respect to them. What has happened to the Dame”s hair, it is all very good to age naturally but with all the beautiful wigs she used to wear!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also hope she gets another gown for the Oscars. Don’t get me wrong I still think she can outdo most performers out there, but her PR people need to pull their fingers out.
