(Non-DSB) An Evening with Joan Collins

The connection with Shirley is that Joan is a great friend. They often go to the same events. Shirley went to Joan’s most recent wedding.

Now Joan is doing a national UK theatre tour, which I wouldn’t miss. It looks like it’s going to be both fun and interesting.

Her Special Guests are “4 Poofs and a Piano” who appear as the comical studio band on Jonathan Ross’s chat show.

Here’s the publicity from a promotional web site:

Joan Collins – the name says it all. A name of international renown, but first and foremost the name of an actress. However, Joan Collins also means best-selling author, accomplished producer, a successful entrepreneur and devoted mother.

A lifetime full of achievements, Joan Collins’ career cannot be defined by one highlight or pinnacle moment. Starring in 55 feature films, as Alexis Carrington Colby in Dynasty, guest performer in TV shows from Space 1999 to Will and Grace or on the UK stage, Joan Collins’ name, beauty and work spans every generation. In 1997 she received the ultimate accolade an O.B.E. for her lifetime contribution to the arts and her continuing charity work.

As well as preparing for her first UK tour, Joan Collins’ work this year has included the release of her thirteenth book ‘Misfortune’s Daughters’, appearing in episodes 5 and 6 of the eagerly awaited fifth series of ‘Footballers Wives’ which will be screened in February/March 2006, a TV drama ‘Hotel Babylon’ with Tamzin Outhwaite & Max Beesley, and will host the Christmas Special of ‘Have I Got News For You’.

Joan Collins will be joined by special guests 4 Poofs & A Piano, who are best known for their TV work on ‘Friday Night With Jonathan Ross’, which is now in its 7th series, whilst appearing on the show they have worked with many huge stars including Jim Carey, Elton John, Liza Minnelli and Sir Paul McCartney.
