Sunday Supplement – Dame’s Next Single? + Tina and Moira + NTB Gig

The title of Dame Shirley Bassey’s next single might be:

Language of Love

Shirley has shown interest in this new song written by Nikki Lamborn and Catherine Feeney of the sensational rock band ‘Never The Bride’

As you know, they wrote The Living Tree

(left) Nikki in fine voice

This was revealed at last night’s gig

Nikki said it’s a possibility at this stage, and they went on to perform the beautiful new song

It’s a stadium torch anthem. The kind of gorgeous song that gets the torches, flashlights and lighters waving by the hundred in the arena

It sounds ideal for DSB – a nice slow and romantic number that is easier on the voice

So watch this space – it’s by no means definite but would be wonderful

“British Newsreader Moira Stewart has always said taxi drivers were always shouting
“Alright Shirley”?
You can see the resemblance here

Kind regards

There are more photos for tomorrow

The group were a knockout, vey fine playing and totally brilliant musicianship from everyone

They played The Living Tree and their rock version of Diamonds Are Forever (better than the Arctic Monkeys!)

Others included Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love, The Who’s Pinball Wizard and Can’t Explain

Plus their own fabulous songs I’m A Loser, Kiss Kiss, Surprise and more

Janis Joplin’s Lord Won’t You buy Me A Mercedes-Benz

Plus a bit of Motown Soul, more heavy rock, a duet, and their new Bassey-friendly Language of Love

A wonderful night at The 100 Club, a friendly atmosphere, a great crowd, two encores, and Nikki on superbly expressive vocal form

Congratulations to the Chicks!

Does my voice sound big in this?

Nikki told me that backstage at Glastonbury, Shirley pointed at her pink feathery gown and asked

“Do you think this is OK now that I’m a Rock Chick?”
