(Non-DSB) Katherine’s I Who Have Nothing

Dame Shirley’s friend, the beautiful opera star Katherine Jenkins, paid tribute to her formidable tearjerker of a song:-

I Who Have Nothing

Why not see it from a different angle?

It’s from daytime TV’s Alan Titchmarsh Show, broadcast two days ago.

And just in case you have forgotten how DSB does it, here’s a reminder:-

Thanks to Scot

It’s been on here before.  Oh well, any excuse!

DSB’s Entrance at Glasto!

Watch Shirley Bassey’s entrance at the Glastonbury Festival.

Her entrance and the opening lines to Get The Party Started were missed off the original BBC2 broadcast but have been put onto Youtube thanks to Astrid.

The Dame and the Lord Part 2

Following on from The Dame and the Lord page dated 25th October…

There’s an article in The Times about the Haymarket Group’s party:

“INTRODUCING to the stage a “young daughter of Cardiff, second city of Wales”, Swansea-born Lord Heseltine was in his element last Tuesday evening.

On swished Dame Shirley Bassey in a marabou-trimmed cape, covering a yellow gown split daringly to the thigh.

To 550 of his old friends and colleagues, assembled at the Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane, she belted out hits such as Goldfinger plus a one-off performance of “Happy Birthday Haymarket”, celebrating the 50-year-old magazine empire that Heseltine controls.”

Thank goodness The Times had something about it.

I politely asked the Public Relations Dept of the Haymarket Group for any snippets that might be of interest to DSB fans, of which their boss is one. They sent a snotty reply saying it was a private party and no comment.

It was hardly a State Secret under the Freedom of Information Act!  For pity’s sake!

Hope the humourless jobsworths will be more helpful about Tarzan’s birthday party next March.

DSB will be singing. Oops! That’s a secret 🙂

Leona Lewis for 007

Breaking news today that Leona Lewis might sing the next Bond theme.

Just by coincidence, she’s included in the Divas Jukebox added here yesterday.

Her single Bleeding Love has just gone straight to No.1 in the UK.

But we all want Shirley!
