Who could forget the closing act on 21st November 2005 at the Royal Variety Performance?
Dame Shirley Bassey has appeared at the RVP a number of times to great acclaim. Her 1994 performance brought the first standing ovation at the show for over twenty years.
This year’s RVP will be in the presence of HM The Queen and HRH The Duke Of Edinburgh at the Liverpool Empire Theatre on 3rd December.
Presenters will be Kate Thornton and Philip Schofield.
To date the acts will be Paul Potts, Katherine Jenkins, Bon Jovi, Enrique Iglesias, Darcy Bussell, James Blunt and the cast of Michael Ball’s Hairspray musical. Subject to change.
The Empire is the biggest theatre in Liverpool. Being the City’s 800th birthday year, and approaching the dawn of the European Capital of Culture celebrations, it is a thrill that the show will be staged at the Empire, loved by the people of Liverpool since 1925. As always, the show will be broadcast to a worldwide audience.
