The black gown

Here’s some information about the beautiful black gown worn on German TV.

The video was added here on 25th November under the headline “Defining Something / TIML”

Please click here to see it again. It’s well worth another look or three.

Thanks to Ian, my brilliant gown guru:-

“This black sequinned dress was originally worn in 1974 on BBC TV’s
special, then for the cover of the I Am What I Am album in 1984.

Seen again at the BAFTA’s in 1987 and for German TV that year.

Ian xx”

1970’s publicity shot

A photo taken for Shirley’s BBC TV series broadcast in the 1970’s, with their gorgeous Old English Sheepdog.

A breed that demands high maintenance.

And that’s just Shirley 🙂 only joking 🙂

Thanks to Astrid

(Non-DSB) Marc Almond

Here’s a message from Peter about Marc Almond’s latest album…

“Hi Peggy,

Hope all is good with you.

Not sure if this is of interest, but having seen Marc Almond perform ‘Strangers in the Night’ at the Fashion Rocks show I decided to get his new album ‘Stardom Road’ which was released in June.

I’ve finally got a copy and imagine how pleased I was to find it includes a cover of ‘Ballad of the sad young men’ with Antony from Antony and the Johnsons!  There’s a clip here: http://www.marcalmond.co.uk/stardomroad/index.htm

Good to see Marc doing one of the Dame’s songs after the fabulous intro he wrote for the 1994 EMI Boxset!  It only remains now for them to do something together.

All the best,
