Pop my cork

This ia a photo that has a story.

Thanks to Gary for this 1970 publicity photo by the Independent Television Corporation.

 David sent this interesting comment:

“The new 2 on 1 has arrived. Loving it.

Good to see that they are also releasing Pigalle/Talk of the Town as advertised inside the CD case. When is the release for that? Have you heard?

Do you know if they have a long term commitment to the back catalogue or are they just following their noses one by one (or two by two!)”

I don’t know, David, but we are grateful for their wonderful work.

It might be worth writing to them.

The impression I get is that BGO release CDs as and when they can. The remastering process to their high standard is time-consuming. They are a small specialist label. Highly respected and highly recommended.

Dame Shirley is, of course, just one of the many artists in their huge catalogue.

BGO deserve every success and the full support of DSB fans.

If (like me) you have the vinyl LPs, why not buy the CDs and preserve your old records?

Here’s a few of their CD covers:

With Elton

At Elton John’s 2007 charity party, Dame Shirley sang and then did a duet.

Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to have been filmed, but we have the pix thanks to Chopard.

Here’s a new artistic video by Tollerance, who has done another great job in his signature style.
