Shirley’s friend, Sir Paul McCartney, was presented with an award for Outstanding Contribution To Music at the Brit Awards in London last night (February 20), before playing a five-song set to close the ceremony.
The ex-Beatles legend kept his acceptance speech short before heading on-stage to play five songs with a live band: ‘Dance Tonight’, ‘Live And Let Die’ ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Lady Madonna’ and ‘Get Back’.
The latter two songs were performed after national TV had stopped broadcasting from the event.
After accepting his award from presenters the Osbourne family, Sir Paul McCartney gave brief thanks and said, “I’m gonna keep this short… I think British music is the best!”
It was a top night for Take That and the Arctic Monkeys.
Leona Lewis, on the other hand, has been less lucky.
Kylie performed ‘Wow’ and looked great.
