2008 is yet another significant year for Dame Shirley Bassey. In 2003 Dame Shirley celebrated 50 years in show business. That means that this year she has reached another milestone of being an entertainer for 55 years. A really terrific achievement. It’s a real shame but it seems as though it being totally ignored. Nothing in any of the newspapers and absolutely nothing to celebrate from her previous record companies. I am very disappointed with EMI. They did absolutely zero in 2003 and it’s been a big zero since. Thank goodness we have BGO as we are getting her back catalogue on great quality releases.
Maybe, just maybe EMI might decide to do something to celebrate her 60th anniversary!!
