As most of you are aware today should have seen the release of the new DVD – ‘Shirley Bassey on TV’. Indeed some fans have already received their copies from HMV if they had pre-ordered them. I received my copy on Friday. Unfortunately I was one of the unlucky ones who was not able to play it on any of my equipment. A few lucky fans were able to play it and they have rated it very highly.
Odeon Entertainment who have released this DVD have been very quick to realise there has been a fault in the manufacture and have withdrawn all copies that had been sent out to sell and are having a new lot manufactured. They have advised that the faulty DVDs can be returned to themselves and they will replace it as soon as the new DVDs are ready which should be in the next 7 – 10 days. Fans can also return them to the company from whom they purchased them and get a refund. The company are genuinely upset fans have had this problem and are keen to put everything right.
I understand that they are planning to release a further two DVDs by Dame Shirley which can only be good news for all of us. As soon as I receive my replacement DVD I will review it but as I’ve already said this DVD seems to be very impressive on content, picture and sound quality.

Odeon confirmed to me today that they are pressing the new batch at the moment and will be able to be read by all region 2 DVD players. A new Shirley Bassey DVD is being released very soon called ‘An Evening With”. Good news for all of us.

I RECEIVED MY DVD ON THE 13TH JULY, AND I AM SORRY TO SAY IT DOESNOT WORK IT KEEPS FREEZING. I AM HAVING TO RETURN IT BACK TO AMAZON. HOPEFULLY I WILL GET A NEW ONE SOON. WILL HAVE TO KEEP WATCHING THE OTHERS AND THE IMAGINE AND PROMS PROGRAMMES. SHIRLEY YOURE THE BEST.X

I received my dvd from Amazon last Friday and i must say that i am so lucky that the
dvd was really working well. That was really fantastic to see Dame Sjirley Bassey
way back 1971. She is still as fabolous as yesterday and i would say more fantastic today . Her voice is as beautiful as she is . I am so excited to learn that there’s another
2 dvds coming up . Please let me know as soon as you learn the date of the release so i
can lace my order ar amazon as soon as possible

Finally received my copy today from Amazon (I’m in Australia) and wouldn’t you know it’s faulty! Very disappointing it is too, it looks fabulous. I see Amazon have taken it off their site, anyone know where i can order it from – a non -faulty one would be nice!

I received my copy today allthough i had pre-ordered it (from Germany).
The dvd arrived late but it has great picture and sound quality and some rare and exciting footage on it!
I adore the 1971 Big Spender version, What about today and all the RVP’s from 1971 to 2005 (unfortunately the 1994 RVP with her mazing performance of Born to sing is missing), and most of all, i love her duets on this dvd, specially the medley with Englebert!

I received Dame Shirley Bassey DVD yesterday after my eye surgery. Very excited to watch it in my cheap (Xms) DVD player. Due to my poor eye sight from my post operative eye I did not place the DVD properly in the DVD player and it was caught in between the draw !!! I was furious for making such a foolish mistake. Somehow the DVD played quite well . The songs and pictures had very tiny movement. This morning I tried to play the DVD in my Palsonic DVD player. I was very very happy this DVD was in perfect condition. The songs,sound and picture were world class. So sorry for Christopher got a faulty one. I am in Australia and I am very lucky. I bought my DVD in http://www.hmv.com ( In England ) Christopher gets it from hmv. I bought so many DVDs from there and I have no problem. Good luck!
