National Music Awards 2003

Today a request by Paul and he wrote:

I had been going through some old videos I have of Dame Shirley and came across a clip I had recorded from 2003. Dame Shirley was presented a National Music Award for Outstanding Contribution To Music 2003 from Simon Cowell, then sung ‘Goldfinger’ to close the show!  It would be great if you could preview this clip on the blog as I have never come across it on any site or ever heard it mentioned. It is a great tribute to Dame Shirley especially as she is celebrating 60 years in the business.

Regards Paul

  2. I remember watching this , pity it was not a different song but a fantastic performance and notice the expressions of other performers in the audience. Also it was interesting to see the intricate detail of the Doug Darnell gown which I saw Shirley wear on the `THANKYOU FOR THE YEARS ` tour at Wembley Arena another incomparable evening amongst so many.
