1979 The year of the second series of 6 BBC shows by Dame Shirley Bassey. Below an article about Stewart Morris who produced all the BBC shows. This week we received an email from Julie with a wonderful picture and story about Stewart Morris and Dame Shirley. Also below the rare video I found last year where Dame Shirley performs the Barry Manilow song ‘Daybreak’ from his album ‘This one’s for you’. A song Dame Shirley also recorded on her 1977 album ‘You Take My Heart Away’ along with some more Barry Manilow songs.
Dear Pieter,
I enclose a photograph for the Blog Site.
This would go with the latest blog..
When Shirley was recording the 1976 Television series with Stuart Morris, this is the actual photograph she gave him after filming the “Oil Rig” episode.
Shirley had been adamant she did not want to be swung about in the basket over the oil rig , but he did this, which frightened her.
It reads..
To Stewpot! a very dangerous man but fortunately a very talented one!!! Much love and admiration Shirley.
Stewart Morris gave this photograph to a friend before he passed away. It is now in my possession.
Great Blog site.
