Following on from the news on the recording of a new Shirley Bassey studio album, the Tweets by violinist Russell Gilbert have now been mysteriously deleted; the only one remaining from 24th July is a retweet of Godless Utopia, with absolutely no mention of our Goddess DSB! What to make of this development? Did the trigger happy tweeter get scolded by Dame Shirley for spoiling her surprise anniversary album, or could this have been a cruel hoax?

I think you are right Susanne.
Over all the years that people have worked with, and for, Dame Shirley, they have always been loyal and never written or capitalised on their time with her.
The Royals should have such loyal people !

For we DSB fans it would be wonderful to have her do a new album. I believe she will not disappoint us.

Still believe there’s a new cd in the making. About two weeks ago I read a tweet from a sound engineer from Australia saying he was recording for Dame Shirley. That tweet seems to have mysteriously disappeared as well. And we all remember Paloma Faith’s message, don’t we? I do love me a good mystery!

IT’S GONNA HAPPEN FOLKS. HOPEFULLY TOO SOMEWHERE AROUND THAT TIME, THERE WILL BE CONFIRMATION OF AT LEAST THIS MINI WORLD TOUR OF CERTAIN MAJOR CITIES I HEARD SHE WOULD BE DOING SOON. LET’S ALL HOPE BECAUSE IT WOULD BE ASTOUNDING FOR MANY FANS AND ESPECIALLY THE NEW ONES SHE’S ATTRACTED IN THE LAST 15 YEARS OR SO TO SEE THE “QUEEN OF CLASSIC POP” ON STAGE. Yes, that’s what I was thinking Emmit, that she would tour a few major cities, doing short concerts. I pray that New York City will be one of them.

I hope this not a cruel hoax. 2014 is Dame Shirley’s 61st year in show business. What ever the new CD celebrates, I am looking forward to it very much. Perhaps a major announcement is to come?

Almost two months ago a friend of mine who works as a journalist told me that he had heard from the former partner of Miguel Bosé (that is a music producer) he was recording with Shirley Bassey.
so I think the tweets are gone because there had to be a surprise.

If it’s a 50 anniversary CD it could be the Long awaited Project of DSB recording all Bond Songs with excellent orchestrations to celebrate the 50. anniversary of Goldfinger.
