There will never be another you 1

There will never be another you 2

There will never be another you 3

There will never be another you 4

There will never be another you 5

This is our last dance together
Tonight soon will be long ago
And in our moment of parting
This is all I want you to know

There will be many other nights like this
And I’ll be standing here with someone new
There will be other songs to sing
Another fall, another spring
But there will never be another you

There will be other lips that I may kiss
But they won’t thrill me like yours used to do
Yes, I may dream a million dreams
But how can they come true
If there will never ever be another you?

There will be other songs to sing
Another fall, another spring
But there will never be another you

Yes, I may dream a million dreams
But how can they come true
If there will never ever be another you?

  1. Wonderful picture of Bassey with The Great Lena Horne who once lived in my grandmothers old neighborhood in Brooklyn many years ago. Many of my old family and friends still remember Lena Horne driving in her new car through the ‘hood. Bette Midler who has her own justified star once said of her own singing, “I’m no Shirley Bassey”. Areatha Franklin the Queen of Soul said “Shirley Bassey is a Diva”, soon the compelling Paloma Faith will Duet with her in a long history of greats who have sung with her or crossed her path. She can’t be dismissed by any means. Bassey is forever- LONG LIVE THE DAME!

    1. So true Emmit. Hard to beat Aretha, so that’s really saying something there. You know I just heard Aretha singing a lovely song from a film, the title of the song is “One Night With a King”. Aretha sounded lovely singing this song, and then the thought crossed my mind…what a great song for Dame Shirley. With her voice she would really do a great job if that was on her new album.
