Dame Shirley Bassey on The Royal Variety Show

Dame Shirley Bassey will be on British TV this evening (December 8th 2014) on The Royal Variety Performance. This year’s show was recorded 13th November 2014 at London Palladium in the presence of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. DSB performed two songs, I’m Still Here (from the new album, Hello Like Before) and The Lady Is A Tramp. (*Watch the 2014 show here*)

23rd November 1987 – London Palladium. Held in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh. Presented by London Weekend Television. Broadcast 29th November 1987:

15th November 1976 – London Palladium. Held in the presence of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Presented by Max Bygraves. Shirley Bassey headlined this special Royal Variety, which was the first performance to be televised live:

  1. Thank you Pieter. First standing ovation at the RVP in 20 years, and only Dame Shirley could do that. I know she felt like crying in front of the audience, and you could see she was very touched by the people.
