concerto d'autunno - ita sgl - centreConcerto D’autunno
(Autumn Concert)
Written by C. Bargoni / Danpa.

Released in 1969 on an Italian Single (UA 3170, with “(You Are) My Way Of Life” on the B-side). On the single “Canzonissima ’69” it is noted which obviously means that Shirley Bassey sang this song at that Italian music festival 1969.

Lyrics: (with English translation)

Guarda le foglie morte
Look at the barren leaves
Portate via dal vento

Carried away by the wind

Si sente un brivido nel cuor
One can feel a shiver in one’s heart

Nel cielo tutto grigio
In the sky, completely grey
Si specchia il mio tormento
My pain finds a reflection

La vita non avrà più sole
Life won’t be sunny anymore

Nell’aria senza luce
Through the lightless air

S’innalzano più tristi

The first strains of a destiny that is going to come

Le prime note di un destin che verrà
Arise sadder and sadder
L’inizio di un concerto che dice a questo cuor:

The beginning of a concert that whispers to my heart:

“L’autunno è ritornato, l’amore no”

“Autumn is back, love is not”

Nell’aria senza luce
Through the lightless air

S’innalzano più tristi

The first strains of a destiny that is going to come

Le prime note di un destin che verrà

Arise sadder and sadder

L’inizio di un concerto che dice a questo cuor:

The beginning of a concert that whispers to my heart:

“L’autunno è ritornato, l’amore no”
“Autumn is back, love is not”
