Dame Shirley Bassey at 2015 New York amfAR Gala

Variety: Shirley Bassey, who, at 78, appeared as brassy and bold as ever, belted her classic tune “Goldfinger,” along with “The Lady Is a Tramp,” “Diamonds Are Forever” and an encore performance of “I Am What I Am.”

The Express: Arms aloft to her adoring crowd, Dame Shirley Bassey thrilled fans at a charity gala on Wednesday (11th Feb). A shimmering star at the gala. Looking elegant in a floor-length bronze evening gown the veteran singer, 78, was a special guest at the 2015 amfAR event at Cipriani Wall Street in New York to raise money for research into HIV/Aids.

The New York Times: The event, which serves as an unofficial kick-off to New York Fashion Week, raised $2.25 million for AIDS research and included an auction and a four-song performance by Shirley Bassey who took to the stage just after 10pm.

    1. Very true Pruette. She is still going strong, and I wish I could have been there to see and hear her. Pruette for some reason I am not able to like messages, so that is why I am replying to your comment. God bless Dame Shirley with great health, peace, safety and continued opportunities to share the gift that she was blessed with. Than you sooo much Bassey Blog staff!!!
