Lyrics:
He doesn’t act as though he cares, But deep inside I know he cares, And that is why I am tied right by his side.
As longs as he needs me I know where I must be I’ll cling on steadfastly As longs as he needs me
As long as life is long I’ll love him, right or wrong And somehow I’ll be strong As long as he needs me
If you are lonely then you will know When someone needs you you love them so I won’t betray his trust Though people say I must I’ve got to stay true just As longs as he needs me
If you are lonely then you will know When someone needs you you love them so I won’t betray his trust Though people say I must I’ve got to stay true just As longs as he needs me
Something was also re-recorded for the 1984 I Am What I Am Album with the London Symphony Orchestra. For a previous post about Something with all the additional information on this song CLICK HERE please.

Lyrics:
Something in the way he moves Attracts me like no other lover Something in the way he moves me I don’t want to leave him now You know I believe in how
Somewhere in his smile he knows That I don’t need no other lover Something in his style that shows me Don’t want to leave him now You know I believe in how
You’re asking me will our love grow I don’t know, I don’t know You stick around now it may show I don’t know, I don’t know
Something in the way he moves And all I have to do is think of him Something in the things he shows me I don’t want to leave him now You know I believe in how
You’re asking me will our love grow I don’t know, I don’t know You stick around now it may show I don’t know, I don’t know
Something in the way he moves Something in the way he knows Something in the way he smiles Something in the way he moves Something in the way he smiles Something
I Am What I Am was the only studio album recorded by Shirley Bassey for the Towerbell Records label, several other tracks were also recorded at this label and issued as singles only. The recording sessions took place at Olympic Studios, Barnes, London, in July and August 1984. Following the success of the previous album All by Myself this album peaked at number 25 in the UK album chart and reached Gold status. This release was the first digitally recorded album made by Shirley Bassey and was issued on vinyl, cassette and CD. Consisting of mainly re-recordings from Shirley Bassey’s back catalogue and two new songs, this album was recorded ‘live’ with The London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Carl Davies. The album also reunited Shirley Bassey with Norman Newell, who had served successfully as her producer throughout the 1960s. More……….
Towerbell Records is now defunct but this album has been re-issued on CD many times on various labels.
Several of the vocal performances made for this recording were remixed for the 2007 album Get the Party Started.

Lyrics:
What now my love? Now that you’ve left me How can I live Through another day?
Watching my dreams Turning to ashes And my hopes Into bits of clay
Once I could see Once I could feel Now I’m numb I’ve become unreal
I walk the night Without a goal Stripped of my heart My soul
What now my love? Now that it’s over I feel the world Closing in on me
Here come the stars Tumbling around me There’s the sky Where the sea should be
What now my love? Now that you’re gone I’d be a fool To go on and on
No one would care No one would cry If I should live Or die
What now my love? Now there is nothing Only my last Goodbye
Finally below you can watch Dame Shirley Bassey perform What My Love live in 2009 at the Electric Proms supported by the Welsh Guards.
