Terry Wogan dies at the age of 77

Veteran BBC broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan has died aged 77, after a short illness, his family has confirmed.
In a statement, they said: “Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but brave battle with cancer.
“He passed away surrounded by his family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time.”
BBC director general Tony Hall said: “Terry truly was a national treasure.” Read more

  1. Pieter, this is a fitting tribute to a very well loved television and radio personality, thanks for showing. I have never seen this clip before so it was a nice surprise to see Shirley presenting the award and I LOVED the head gear!

  2. Thank you Pieter. Just from viewing this archive I can understand why he received the award nine years in a row. A very down to earth, grateful, humble man and I will say a prayer for his family. DSB looked very, very pretty.
