  2. I was extremely dissappointed as were many on twitter not because of Dame Shirleys performance but because of Walliams it seemed many of us thought it was more about him than the dame. A star like Dame Shirley doesnt need a presenter like Walliams who thinks hes what the thing is all about so the whole thing in the end was overshadowed by him .The dame performance was faultless though and a pity the BBC let this so called comediene take centre stage .

  3. Thank you Pieter. What an outstanding, truly memorable performance by DSB. Her voice is still in top shape, and she looked very beautiful in her gorgeous gowns, and still has her great sense of humor. I agree with the above comment that there could have been one less Walliams’ skit. Since it was a celebration in her honor, a serenade by Michael Ball, Michael Buble, Harry Connick, or John Legend would have been excellent. It was heart warming to see DSB become overtaken with emotion by the audience’s display of affection. I noticed her trying to cover up her tears of happiness. I am so very happy for her that the broadcast was such a success. Now I am still believing she will do some very short tours and come to the USA. Thank you very, very much for all your hard work in keeping us in the know about DSB Pieter.

  4. Late comment but I was NOT expecting her to hit that last “Goldfinger” note with that ridiculous amount of power, it was even more powerful than at the Oscars! And yes I agree with everything that has been said here of Walliams…
