About the dress Shirley wears for this performance:
A strapless gown of black net decorated overall with silver glitter stars, the full skirt of graduated layers falling to a train at the back, labelled inside Murray Arbeid London.
The photograph illustrated shows Dame Shirley wearing it on a publicity postcard from around the same date.

About the dress Shirley Bassey wears when meeting the Queen after the performance: An asymmetrical fitted gown of black velvet, the front decorated diagonally from the left shoulder to the fishtail skirt and across the upper back with stylised lilies and leaves in white satin edged with tiny Swarovski clear crystals, white bugle beads and silver thread, labelled inside Murray Arbeid London;
On the photograph illustrated Dame Shirley is wearing the black velvet dress when meeting H.M. The Queen after the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium, 23rd November, 1987.
