Her appearance is a special treat for Gery Keszler, Chairman and Life Ball organiser, who said “The icon and unique artist Dame Shirley Bassey welcoming to this special Life Ball is like a unique birthday present and a great honor for 25 years of fighting HIV and AIDS.”

A limited number of coveted tickets are available from Tuesday April 24th 2018 from WIEN ticket, the official ticket partner of the Life Ball. Tickets are limited to 3,780 places.

Additionally, Limited-edition tickets to an exclusive gala event and banquet (dinners with VIP guests before the start of the Ball) are only available through the Life Ball office.

Life Ball has become one of the world’s most important AIDS charity events. The seven-digit proceeds of this benefit event go to global aid projects, in collaboration with international partner organisations.

An unsurpassed number of international celebrities from the worlds of fashion, entertainment, and politics works tirelessly every year to raise awareness for this issue. The City of Vienna also contributes significantly providing the venue and showing the city’s cosmopolitanism, tolerance, and social responsibility.

The charity’s message is loud and clear: Together we can end AIDS!

This year’s milestone anniversary event will reflect on the past and look to the future, reviewing the charity’s significant achievements in the fight against HIV / AIDS over the last 25 years and evaluate Life Ball’s sociopolitical impact. The festivities will reaffirm a commitment to fighting for all of those living with HIV and those impacted by the virus both in Austria and around the globe.

The musical theme of the event is ‘An Homage to The Sound of Music’ – An exuberant and entertaining means of conveying its crucial message, Life Ball has established itself as a festival of life. It represents a multicultural, inclusive Austria that engages an increasingly international audience. Life Ball, like 1965’s Sound of Music, represents Austrian values and traditions yet still touches a broad international impact.

Therefore, deliberately referencing Austria, the touching story of the von Trapp family will be the anniversary’s leitmotif. The Sound of Music is considered one of the most successful musical films ever released. In the movie, Austria is seen through a joyful Hollywood lens. It touches millions around the world with its famous melodies, some of which have also been recorded by Dame Shirley herself!

Final public images of Dale Winton – All smiles after night out with DSB

Yesterday we received the sad and shocking news that much loved British TV presenter Dale Winton passed away at his home aged 62.

The Mirror reports that the last picture taken of him in public was after enjoying a night out in London with close friend Dame Shirley Bassey on 29 November 2016.

They had visited Scott’s restaurant in Mayfair before Dale, looking smart in a navy blue suit and light blue shirt, was seen returning to his car and driving away with a glamorous Dame Shirley in the passenger seat.
