For this Video Show Case we have this duet from 1966 with Andy Williams. 1966 was also the year Shirley Bassey signed a contract with United Artists. (Newspaper articles from the George Webb collection)
Thanks for this post Pieter. They sound wonderful together. Shirley looks and sounds fantastic. Andy Williams has got to be the only man who did not hug Dame Shirley back. Great articles too. Thanks
Throughout the years, Andy has always spoken favorably of Ella Fitzgerald. His favorite female singer to work with on his show. Not one mention of Shirley Bassey. Jealousy is a terrible thing, Andy. 😦
This was a wonderful duet. I always loved Andy Williams’s singing. What a contrasting performance of ‘It’s One Of Those Songs’ that DSB sang with the great Jimmy Durante. What a busy lady DSB was during those years.

Sure is Margie. He could have at least given her a very favorable mention. Guess he was being a Diva😀😀😀
