Not much news from the year 2017. Dame Shirley Bassey attended the Silver Clef Awards and in Monte Carlo Adnan Cashoggi passed away at 81. He and his former wife Soraya were friends with Dame Shirley. Soraya was at the TV. studio in 1974 when Shirley recorded her duet with Neil Diamond. The famous story where she thought Shirley was smitten with Neil Diamond but her eyes were at his diamond necklace. Also she attended Wimbledon to watch the match between Johanna Konta and Venus Williams. Also a funny revelation by Tom Jones about Shirley when she performed at the Tom Jones show in 1970.
