FROM THE ARCHIVE 510 -1956-

Today a few newspaper articles from 1956 from the beginning of Shirley Bassey’s career. That year she performed live at the Cafe de Paris in London. It was her first live recording. She sang Born To Sing The Blues, Somebody Loves Me, My Body’s More Important Than My Mind, Sex & I’ve Got You Under My Skin.

  1. From a shy young girl to the UK’s Greatest Female entertainer, and of international renown. I enjoyed the articles hand pictures very much. With her first five dollars she bought an ice cream cone and a trip to the fairgrounds. That shows how down to earth she was then. Thanks a lot Pieter.
