Lyrics: It’s Yourself
It’s yourself I love, don’t you know
More than anyone, more than me
When you won my love, don’t you know
What you went and done, don’t you see
If there’s anything I’ve left to give
I’ll give it to you
If there’s any life I’ve left to live
I’ll live it for you
What’s my happiness
What’s my wealth
What’s my everything
It’s yourself
If there’s anything I’ve left to give
I’ll give it to you
If there’s any life I’ve left to live
I’ll live it for you
What’s my happiness
What’s my wealth
What’s my everything
It’s yourself!

Beautiful

I realy do think that many people missed out on the early Shirley,B-sides of her records ! If people do a search on the titles Dennis mentioned, and find them they will be well pleased.
Words and music to “Now” are just great.
For Dennis ! Birmingham Town Hall ! Did you see DSB in the Cardinal Dress ,designed by Doug Darnell’s sister ?
Lovely memories, I remember Shirley sometimes had a jewel in her hair and detatched it and cast it out to a lucky catcher !
Love all the comments,Great snippets of info and memories !

Thank you Pieter! Classic, vintage Bassey. Incomparable live and the 60’s look has to be my favourite of all her decades. Not forgetting the song, of course. I always thought that this recording showed her voice at her most strongest and powerful and you can also hear it on The Liquidator. Fantastic memories of a bygone era.

Thank you Pieter. I really enjoyed this archive. DSB looked so classy and gorgeous in the tweed outfit, and lovely pictures of her with husband Kenneth Hume. Her performance at the Mayfair is superb, especially her rendering of “It’s Yourself.”
Thank you very much Pieter.
