In 2010 the John L. Williams biography called Miss Shirley Bassey was released. No matter if you like the book or not the first page of it that you can read below, is certainly catching and attracts the attention of the reader.
Also that year Dame Shirley Bassey presented the Baftas and she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York along Sting, Lady Gaga and Elton John at a benefit for the saving of the rain forest. Below you can also watch a video of Dame Shirley at Buckingham Palace where there was a night organized in honour of Richard Burton.

Göttinnen unsere Zeit Hamburg -Dame Shirley Bassey-

At the beginning of 2013  Dame Shirley Bassey gave her last live performance where she sang more than 2 songs at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and it was just spectacular. Not only did Dame Shirley get a standing ovation at her entrance and exit to the the stage but after EVERY song! Dame Shirley got very emotional because of the wonderful reception she got.

The voice was in perfect shape and she looked fabulous of course wearing the white gown she also wore for Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee concert.

She did 5 songs: Goldfinger, Something, Diamonds Are Forever, The Lady Is a Tramp & I Am What I Am.

The orchestra was fabulous and it must have been great for her to perform with such a large group of great musicians. The Hamburg Symphony Orchestra.

Below a video of her performance plus the good quality audio

Lyrics: It’s Yourself

It’s yourself I love, don’t you know
More than anyone, more than me

When you won my love, don’t you know
What you went and done, don’t you see

If there’s anything I’ve left to give
I’ll give it to you
If there’s any life I’ve left to live
I’ll live it for you

What’s my happiness
What’s my wealth
What’s my everything
It’s yourself

If there’s anything I’ve left to give
I’ll give it to you
If there’s any life I’ve left to live
I’ll live it for you

What’s my happiness
What’s my wealth
What’s my everything

It’s yourself!
