Dame Shirley visited London and Cardiff this week. She was in London for the 75th Anniversary Gala of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama at ‘The Underglobe’ on May 22.
Later this week she returned home to Cardiff to attend the premiere of a musical theatre students’ production of ‘Sweet Charity’. The show features the song Dame Shirley made her own, ‘Hey Big Spender,’ and after seeing the show she ‘spent a little time’ with the students backstage, chatting to the cast and crew. Earlier in the day, she met students who have benefitted from the Dame Shirley Bassey scholarship that was established at RWCMD through her support.

Wow Pieter she still looks absolutely stunning! This blog is still always great at finding new things and I still come back often since about 10 years ago 🙂 The 1969 David Frost show and the 1970 Berlin show are also great recent finds!
May I request a repost of the audio 1969 Berns Stockholm Concert, it would be great as the setlist was special! One of the very few times she has been in my home city (to my knowledge?). This 90s Berlin concert is also new to me but maybe you have seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOnlWwliotM
