(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

The Légion d’honneur or Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur (French: “National Order of the Legion of Honour”) is a French order established by Napoleon Bonaparte, First Consul of the First Republic, on 19 May 1802.  The Order is the highest decoration in France and is divided into five various degrees: Chevalier (Knight), Officier (Officer), Commandeur (Commander), Grand Officier (Grand Officer) and Grand’Croix (Grand Cross).

The order’s motto is Honneur et Patrie (Honour and Fatherland), and its seat is the Palais de la Légion d’Honneur on the left bank of the River Seine in Paris.

  • About Liz Brewer:
Liz Brewer first shot to fame when she swapped life as a debutante in favour of launching Portugal’s first ever Discotheque/Night club, The 7 and 7 1/2 in Albufeira, at that time, an unspoilt fishing village in the Algarve, to which she attracted an array of celebrities including Cliff Richard, The Shadows, Lulu, Cilla Black and Paul McCartney giving Liz an appetite for organising extravagant and memorable events. Initially she did this together with her then fiance, Neville Roberts who sadly had to leave Portugal after one year leaving Liz to continue single-handedly for the following nine years.

Her task was to introduce new revenue to hitherto unused areas of their hotels and introduce a younger and more interesting clientel. Soon enough, Liz added representation of Portugal and the Algarve, to the portfolio of her Marketing and PR clients followed by the marketing and PR of Jamaica, Florida and Greece. She later branched into launching London’s leading Restaurants and Clubs and representing high flying ‘luminaries’ in addition to organising star studded Film Premieres.

  1. Presumably Liz Brewer organized the party NOT the actual honor! I don’t think a party organizer has such influence with the French Government.
