Dame Shirley Bassy’s last big UK Tour was in 2006 and we noticed that she didn’t seem to enjoy it as much as she used to. Below is an interview her sister Eileen gave to the Western Mail. Dame Shirley was not very happy about this interview but, as you can read, Eileen speaks of her sister only with love and respect. Slowing down was a wise decision for Dame Shirley, because after 2006 she seemed to enjoy herself more and did a lot of fun things.

Personally, I believe that ONE of the reasons why DSB didn’t enjoy this tour as much as she had enjoyed previous UK tours was due to it being an Arena tour as opposed to a theatre tour.
