For today’s blog we go back to the year 2002, when Dame Shirley attended Joan Collins’ wedding, with three newspaper articles from The Daily Post Liverpool, The Daily Mail and The Independent. Also below you can listen to a wonderful concert from a year unknown that I found on an audio tape. It was labelled Monte Carlo 2002. If anybody knows from what year it was please let us know.

Concert recording definitely isn’t 2002. Not with Jerry Freeman on drums and some of the songs Shirley sings. It’s pre Colin Green’s arrangements so more likely 1992.

Thanks Pieter. I really enjoyed reading the articles. What a lovely critique by Petra Mann, and I agree that DSB is the best. Such a lovely memory for Joan and her husband, as well as all the guest in attendance. DSB was Ina great mood, and so lovely in her all red ensemble.
