This year it is twenty years ago that Shirley Bassey was made a Dame and next month it will be fifty years ago that the Something album was released, her best selling album so far. So far because the good news is that a new album is in the making. The preparations started already in February but were put on hold because of the Corona crises. But this week 25 songs have been presented to her and the recording of the orchestra starts next month. The title of the new album is yet unknown.

  1. Hé Pieter! This is fantastic news! Let’s hope it will be a successful recording time with later a brand new fantastic Dame Shirley Bassey album! Fingers crossed!! We look not foreward for, “Something” not for “Somthing Else” but “ Something different”! I can’t wait !!! Thanks !!!!

  3. YAY!! I hope the songs will be different (well with 25 songs presented to her, they must all be new) and not the same things (even though I love it all the much) we’ve heard before but totally new material (like in her 2009 album “The Performance”) and I hope the mixing will be better handled unlike her previous album “Hello Like Before”, though I heard that Dame Shirley wasn’t satisfied with the mixing on it either. I’m very excited to wake up hearing this news and will keep my eyes open for anymore!
