In 1981 I performed on the South Africa engagement with Shirley at Sun City. There was some tension and speculation about going there at that time, but the trip turned out well overall and left all of us with lifelong positive, memories,

Thank you for sharing that memory with us Barbara. I remember seeing a video where DSB was speaking of the controversy, saying how her Father was Black. Guess, you have a lot of lovely stories to share about your occasions to play in the orchestra for DSB.

I Alive this archive Pieter. I remember DSB addressing the South Africa controversy. Stating that her Father was African. I love the song Marcia Love wrote for DSB. Also, with the different health issues DSB was confronted with from time to time, it’s a wonder she was able to perform so many outstanding performances.. Thanks a lot Pieter.
